Qi Gong is movement focusing on deep tendon and muscle stretching. This is coordinated with energizing and relaxing breathing. Alongside many more forms of movement, the practice of Qi Gong evolved from awareness of nature. It is a self-healing breathing and movement practice. Qi Gong (another spelling would be Chi Kung - all pronounced the same chee-gong), originates in ancient Chinese medicine. It integrates focusing the mind, physical postures and breathing awareness. Tai-Chi evolved from Qi Gong. Tai-Chi is dynamic movement good for health, speed of body coordination & reflexes. There are elements of Tai-Chi included in the mindfulness and movement classes. This is to ensure a full body stretch and connection… connecting with every muscle, tendon, ligament and organ within the one-hour class. This creates a breathing, healing, and deep strengthening space for the body’s natural energy and our individual health needs and aspirations.
